This service is rooted in the traditional Methodist liturgy. The worship experience flows between music, prayer, scripture and proclamation, as we enter together into God’s presence.

Our Church Staff

  • Robin Hager- Senior Pastor

Robin's call to ministry led her to pursue a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religion and Christian Education at Florida Southern College. She is a graduate of The Divinity School at Duke University with a Masters of Divinity.

Pastor Robin Hager is an ordained Elder in the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church. She has previously served at First UMC Clearwater, First UMC St. Petersburg and First UMC Stuart among others. Robin is married to Rich.

  • Katrina Cook- Office Manager

I have been blessed to be on staff at Grace since October 2002. I am excited about our ministries and the opportunity to expand my knowledge. You can find me in the office Monday through Friday 8 am to 4 pm.

My husband Roy and I both transferred to Venice in 1992 and were married here in Venice in 1993. We became members of Grace in November 1998, our daughters Chrissy and Virginia (JJ) grew up at Grace and joined through confirmation in 2009 & 2011. Chrissy is in her Senior year of college at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers and Virginia is in her Junior year at Florida State University in Tallahassee. You may not know that I grew up just a few counties north in Clearwater or that I was a resident at the Florida United Methodist Children’s home in Enterprise Florida for little over a year. I have an AA degree in Psychology, love roller coasters, cars, jet skiing, RVing, designing/renovating houses and watching movies with my family.

  • TIA FISHBURN - Office Assistant

  • Vicki Mackey- Director of children Ministry

I was born in St. Pete and raised in Lake Wales Florida, a true Florida native! My husband, Troy and I have been married for 21 years and we have three children. Paul 18, Riley 15, and Sara 13. We have lived here in Venice since 1997, and this is where my family had vacationed growing up.

I have taught at the preschool since June of 2004 and became a member of Grace in 2013. I love Florida nature and enjoy camping going to the beach with my family. I love working with children and teaching them.

  • Keriann Craig- Youth Director

Hello Friends! I moved down from Virginia to be the Youth Director here at Grace. My dad is a Pastor in the Virginia United Methodist Conference, so I grew up in the Methodist Church and was very active in my youth group. I graduated from George Mason University in 2014 with a major in Events Management and a Minor in Non-profits.

After graduation, I went straight into Youth Ministry! I absolutely love working with youth and their families. You’ll probably see me hanging out with youth, singing, exploring Venice or at chick-fil-a!

  • Anddrew Toepfer- Praise team Leader

Many of you know me as I grew up in Grace Church. Some may not know that I have been a part of the AV and Praise Team since I was in Middle School. Music has always been an important component in my life. In High school I played in the marching band all four years, was drum major my senior year and the band booster president for two years after graduation.

  • Suzanne Berndt- Interim director of traditional music/organist

  • Mary JEanne Moorman- Pianist

Mary Jeanne Moorman learned to play piano from her mother, Mary Frank Fancher, who is listed in the National Guild of Piano Teachers' Hall of Fame. Mary Jeanne majored in piano performance at two Methodist universities, Southern Methodist University, where she studied choral music with Lloyd Pfautsch, and Oklahoma City University, where she served as staff accompanist for all OCU choirs. She was a soloist with the Oklahoma City Symphony. Mary Jeanne transferred to University of North Texas, Denton, and studied accompanying with Harold Heiberg and piano performance with artist-in-residence Stefan Bardas. Mary Jeanne accompanied Metropolitan Opera leading tenor, Eugene Conley, whose wife, Halvah, watched the Moorman's baby son, John, during rehearsals at the Conley home. John now lives in Venice, as does his younger sister, Sarah.

Steve and Mary Jeanne Moorman felt at home on their first visit to Grace UMC in the summer of 2007, and transferred their memberships from Asbury UMC in Denton, TX, where Mary Jeanne served as pianist. In 2009, when Gene Hodges accepted the position of Director of Traditional Music, Mary Jeanne was invited to serve as Chancel Choir accompanist. Mary Jeanne loves being a member of our dear church family, led by our beloved pastor, and is thankful that she can invite friends to Grace with the confidence that they will be lovingly welcomed and encouraged to worship in Spirit and in Truth.
