  • Faithe Johnson- Grace Pre-School Director

    Faithe@gracemethodistpreschool.org

Hello, my name is Faithe Johnson, Director of Grace United Methodist Preschool here in Venice, FL.  I first started my journey with the Grace family in 2015 as an Assistant Director and moved into the role of Director in 2016.  Grace Preschool is truly a special place.

I hold a BA degree from Mankato State University in Elementary Education, an Advanced Level Florida Director’s Credential, have over 20 years of Early Childhood experience and 15 years of experience directing private, corporate and non-profit centers.  My true passion is non-profit; working with our community, families and teachers in order to provide the best early learning experience for all young learners.  I believe all children should have access to a high quality early learning program to enable them to enter kindergarten fully prepared and ready to learn! I hope to increase our scholarships available to struggling families to decrease this barrier. I am a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children(NAEYC), (FLAEYC)-FL Chapter of NAEYC, United Methodist Association of Preschools (UMAP) as well as Southern Early Childhood Association (SECA). Partnering with these organizations and others in our community helps us achieve the goal of offering a high quality program. As an accredited, non-profit, Christian preschool, families can feel confident that their children are in a great school.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two children and kitties, going to the beach, reading and tending to my koi, plants and flowers outdoors. I welcome all families to visit our preschool to learn more about our programs and to meet our wonderful teachers and staff!

    – I can’t wait to meet you!

    Mrs. Faithe

Our Beliefs

United Methodists share a common heritage with all Christians. According to our foundational statements of beliefs, we share the following basic affirmations in common with all Christian communities:

The Trinity

We describe God in three persons. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are commonly used to refer to the threefold nature of God. Sometimes we use other terms, such as Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer.

The Church

  • We believe that the church is the body of Christ, an extension of Christ’s life and ministry in the world today.
  • We believe that the mission of the church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
  • We believe that the church is “the communion of saints,” a community made up of all past, present, and future disciples of Christ.
  • We believe that the church is called to worship God and to support those who participate in its life as they grow in faith.

The Bible

  • We believe that the Bible is God’s Word.
  • We believe that the Bible is the primary authority for our faith and practice.
  • We believe that Christians need to know and study the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Baptism

  • Through baptism we are joined with the church and with Christians everywhere.
  • Baptism is an outward symbol of our inward new life and a sign of God's love and forgiveness of our sins.
  • Persons of any age can be baptized.
  • We baptize by sprinkling, immersion or pouring.

The Lord's Supper (Communion, Eucharist)

  • The Lord's Supper is a holy meal of bread and juice from the vine that symbolizes the body and blood of Christ.
  • The Lord's Supper recalls the life, death and resurrection of Jesus and celebrates the unity of all the members of God's family.
  • By sharing this meal, we give thanks for Christ's sacrifice and are nourished and empowered to go into the world in mission and ministry.
  • We practice "open Communion," welcoming all who love Christ, repent of their sin, and seek to live in peace with one another.
